Referral Service Disclosures

Last updated: [date to be set at launch]. These disclosures are provided under Rule 4-7.22 of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar, which governs lawyer referral services operating in Florida.

1. This is a referral service, not a law firm

EzuLaw is a lawyer referral service. We are not a law firm, we do not practice law, and we do not provide legal advice or legal representation to anyone who submits an inquiry through this site. Every attorney who participates in our referral panel is an independent lawyer or law firm, responsible for their own practice, advice, and representation decisions.

2. We do not guarantee outcomes

Referral to a participating attorney is not a guarantee that the attorney will accept your matter, nor a guarantee of any particular result. Every legal matter is different, and only a licensed attorney who has reviewed your specific facts can advise you on your options, deadlines, and likelihood of success.

3. Geographic disclosure at referral

When we identify a participating attorney for your matter, we disclose that attorney’s name, law firm, and location (city and county) to you as part of the referral — before you are asked to take any further step. If we do not have a participating attorney available for your practice area or county, we will tell you rather than provide an unsuitable match.

4. How participating attorneys pay to be part of this service

Participating attorneys pay EzuLaw a flat referral or membership fee to be included in our panel. We do not receive, and do not request, any percentage of a settlement, judgment, contingency fee, or other case proceeds in exchange for a referral. Our fee arrangement with participating attorneys does not affect, and is not influenced by, the outcome of your matter.

5. No attorney-client relationship until an attorney agrees to represent you

Submitting an inquiry, being matched with a participating attorney, or having an initial conversation with that attorney does not, by itself, create an attorney-client relationship. That relationship is created only if and when the specific attorney you are referred to agrees, in writing or otherwise directly with you, to represent you. Until then, you should not share information you consider privileged with the expectation that an attorney-client relationship already exists.

6. Attorney vetting

Every participating attorney provides their Florida Bar number as part of onboarding, and we manually confirm that attorney’s standing using The Florida Bar’s official Find A Lawyer lookup before that attorney is added to our live, publicly referenced panel.

7. No referrals to non-legal professionals

We refer prospective clients to attorneys only. We do not cross-refer the same matter to non-legal service providers (such as medical providers or contractors) as part of our referral service.

This page will be reviewed by a Florida-licensed attorney against the current text of Rule 4-7.22 before this site launches publicly, since Bar rules are amended over time.
